The College Football Momentum Tracker measures in net change in votes a team receives in the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches' Polls. It takes a deeper look into the polls themselves and shows you how the writers and coaches' opinions of teams are changing.
Teams at the top of the polls have more room to fall than to rise, and vice versa. Keep that in mind when you read the Rising and Falling lists below.
Rising
With all the upsets of this week, the biggest winners are those teams ranked outside of the top 10 last week. USF's victory over Auburn looks even better since Auburn knocked off Florida. Combine that with last week's upset of West Virginia, and USF is the biggest winner of them all this week.
| 1 | USF | +1173 |
| 2 | Kentucky | +861 |
| 3 | Arizona State | +606 |
| 4 | Boston College | +502 |
| 5 | Georgia | +496 |
| 6 | Wisconsin | +466 |
| 7 | Ohio State | +448 |
| 8 | California | +438 |
| 9 | Purdue | +417 |
| 10 | South Carolina | +392 |
Falling
This week's biggest loser (take your pick): Florida, West Virginia, Texas, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Clemson, Oregon. Carnage all around the college football world this past week. Good news is that a loss now does not necessarily remove you from the National Championship picture, but it does make it tough.
| 1 | Texas | -1277 |
| 2 | Rutgers | -1263 |
| 3 | Clemson | -1031 |
| 4 | West Virginia | -1031 |
| 5 | Oklahoma | -875 |
| 6 | Florida | -733 |
| 7 | Penn State | -718 |
| 8 | Alabama | -408 |
| 9 | Oregon | -288 |
| 10 | Michigan State | -148 |
